Tom Dixon's Bio

Tom Dixon, age 66 was born and raised in Brunswick, MD before moving to the Frederick area in his early 20’s. In 1994 Tom relocated to the New Market/Libertytown area where he still resides today.

Tom has been employed as a crane operator for over 40 years and started his own business in 1994, Hi-Lift Crane Rental Service which he ran until his diagnoses of inoperable Stage 3b Lung Cancer in June 2016 which has rendered him unable to work since that time. It has been hard for Tom not being able to work because he loves his job as a crane operator/owner. He enjoyed getting out every day and seeing his customers and helping to build our community. Tom has undergone 7 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy thus far which took a heavy toll on his health. Plans for round 2 of chemotherapy and radiation is set to begin in February.

Tom’s pride and joy are his two sons, Sean Dixon (29) of Frederick MD and Ryan Dixon (24) of New Market. Both sons are graduates of Linganore High School and Hood College/James Madison respectively.

Tom’s family and friends are hoping to raise money to help with his medical and living expenses so he can continue to live in the family home.
