Susan Cohan Kasdas Colon Cancer
Foundation (Susie’s Cause)
Susan Cohan Kasdas Colon Cancer
Foundation (Susie’s Cause)
Over 56,000 men and women died last year alone from
colon cancer. It is the second leading cause of
cancer related deaths in the United States. One out
of 20 US citizens will experience this disease in
their lifetime. Colon cancer is curable over 90% of
the time when diagnosed and treated early. There is
a tremendous amount of confusion about age,
screening,
symptoms and treatment. The Susan Cohan Kasdas Colon
Cancer Foundation began with one woman’s
extraordinary fight against colon cancer.
Susie’s Story ignited a community
into action. The mission of Susie’s Cause is to
dramatically reduce the
death rate of colon cancer throughout the US and
across the world through education, support and
advocacy.
Since the Foundation began, colon cancer has
experienced the greatest reduction in cancer‐related
deaths, in
the United States.

The Patty Pollatos Fund
The
Patty Pollatos Fund was established in memory of
Patty Pollatos who died of cancer on September 18,
1992. Because of this disease Patty was financially
devastated and about to lose her house. All she
wanted was to die with dignity in her home with her
family. Debbie Williams organized a fundraiser with
her family and friends and in 30 days they raised
$20,000 to honor Patty’s wish. She was a fighter and
an inspiration to all.
Our Mission is to raise money for
needy cancer victims and many worthy charities such
as Alzheimer's, Heartly House, and Rescue Mission.
We also provide scholarship money for our youth
through Frederick Community College. God has also
broadened our boundaries to national organizations
such as Children's Organ Transplant Association and
taking over 50 donated R.V.'s to Katrina and Iowa
flood victims to fill housing needs. We are an
all‐volunteer organization, so 100% of monies raised
goes directly to the needy. We are humbled that
through the dedication and generosity of many, to
date over $3.5 million has been raised to help our
Mission.

John Rollins
So far during 2009, John Rollins has placed second
twice: The Buick Invitational and, The Honda
Classic. In 2007, he enjoyed his best year in terms
of earnings with more than $2.4 million.
For his career,
Rollins has two PGA Tour victories and 27 finishes
in the top 10. He won the Canadian Open in 2002 when
he made a birdie on the first extra hole of a
three-man playoff with Neal Lancaster and Justin
Leonard. He closed that tournament with a 65 in the
final round. Rollins captured the 2006 B.C. Open when
he rolled in a 6-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole
to beat Bob May by one stroke. His final round of 64
again demonstrated his ability to finish strong.
Rollins’ other PGA victory came at the 2001 BUY.COM
Hershey Open.
One of his career
highlights occurred at his first appearance at the
Accenture Match Play Championship. He stretched
Tiger Woods, the No. 1 seed, to the 18th hole before
losing 1-up.
The Richmond, Va.,
native earned his first PGA Tour card by finishing
tied for 16th at the TOUR Qualifying Tournament in
1999. He also won the Virginia State Amateur in 1996
and 1997. He majored in Mass Communications at
Virginia Commonwealth University where he also was
an honorable mention All-American selection. In his
spare time, Rollins loves to play the guitar.

Woody Austin experienced
his best season in 2007 with a victory at the
Stanford St. Jude Championship, a runner-up in the
PGA Championship and earnings of more than $2.8
million.
Austin recorded the best round of
the year with an 8-under-par 62 during the final
round of the St. Jude. He entered the final round
four strokes behind and ended the day with a
five-stroke victory for the third of his career and
first since 2004.

| Three
weeks after winning the St. Jude, Austin finished
tied for second at the Buick Open, an event he won
in 1995. He was one stroke behind Sandler Golf
teammate Brian Bateman, who won for the first time
in his career. A bit of trivia... Austin earned a
Buick Riviera for his victory in 1995 and still owns
the car today. He says the vehicle is in excellent
shape with around 37,000 miles.
Perhaps just as satisfying as his
victory at St. Jude was his second-place showing at
the PGA Championship at Southern Hills. Tiger Woods
beat Austin by two strokes, but the Sandler Golf
team member was within a single stroke for several
holes in the back nine. Austin shot a 67 in the
final round and was the only player to register all
four rounds at par or better.
Austin capped off the year with an
appearance at The Presidents Cup, his first national
team competition. He posted a 1-1-3 record. He also
currently (through July 13) ranks 9th in the 2008
U.S. Ryder Cup Team Standings.
The Tampa Bay, Fla., native has
overcome many obstacles during his career. He tore
tendons and cartilage in his left knee during the
1987 Qualifying Tournament that sidelined him for
two years. Austin originally injured the knee when
he was 11 years old playing Little League Baseball.
He has worked as a credit union teller during the
off-season and in the supplies department at Eckerd
Drug. Austin turned pro in 1986, the same year he
earned a business administration degree from the
University of Miami. |
